Exovita Biosciences is an early-stage biotech company developing exosome-based cancer therapeutics. The company's technology is based on research by Kristina Trujillo (Assistant Professor, UNM Health Sciences’ Department of Cell Biology and Physiology). Trujillo helped discover cancer-killing properties in exosomes (vesicles or fluid-filled packets, that the body forms for cells to communicate with each other). Exosomes have highly selective toxicity against the tumor cells. Exovita is supported by New Mexico Startup Factory, the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, STC.UNM, and Peacock Myers.
