In recent years, RFO began a portfolio diversification strategy borne out of Roberto's strong interest for early stage investment in technologies (especially cloud-based) in media, entertainment, telecoms, health & well-being, green, and logistics. Montreal boasts a deep talent pool in technology (gaming and AI in particular), and also offers enticing tax advantages. In addition to angel and early stage investment, we provide advisory services through our Ramos Ventures Advisory unit. We are a seasoned and highly nimble group of executives and venture advisors and our deal flow is considerable by virtue of our worldwide network of connections and our active participation in various investor groups, including our senior roles in the World Business Angel Investment Forum. We have a strong expertise in LATAM focused businesses. We like to dig deep in understanding the workings of novel and disruptive technologies and are poised to take minority equity positions in companies with stellar teams already on board. We are currently focused especially on everything cloud based entertainment. Our sweet spot for investments is generally between USD$100k and $200k initially, with disbursements based on the achievement of performance milestones.
